Lot 375

1801 S-218 R5 3-Error Reverse Fair-2. A point or two sharper, especially on the reverse, but the fields and protected areas are covered with fine roughness, No verdigris, and the only marks are some faint hairline scratches hidden in the toning on both sides. Dark chocolate brown with lighter steel brown toning on the highpoints. The date is weak but still readable and at least half of the legends remain visible--but nothing is strong. The missing left stem on the wreath and blundered U in UNITED (first inverted, then corrected) are visible, but the 000 error in the denominator is gone. EDS, Breen state I, before the strong die clashmarks at ERTY.
Estimated Value $400-UP.

Realized $388
