Lot 366

1800 S-199 R4 G5. Off Center. Several points sharper but lightly corroded, strongest in the fields and protected areas. No marks or verdigris. The toning is a rather glossy light chocolate brown on the devices and darker olive brown in the fields and protected areas. The two-tone appearance accents the devices and the eye appeal of this cent is decent in spite of the roughness. MDS, Breen state IV, with a tiny cud break in the dentils over the F in OF (this cud would not show if the strike was centered on the planchet). Struck at least 5% off center to K-10 leaving some letters of the legend tight against the edge of the planchet. The date is strong and the legends are clear.
Estimated Value $100-UP.
Ex R. Anthony 4/2005-Ed Leitner.
