Lot 331

1797. Reverse of 1797, stems. Choice glossy medium chocolate brown and steel. The surfaces are smooth and this cent offers outstanding eye appeal. No spots, stains, or roughness. The only marks, and they are trivial, are a faint hairline scratch from the nose into the field at right where it fades away, and another from the ear to the throat. M-LDS, Breen state VII. There is a clear die crack through CA and the ribbon end to the dentils below plus swelling at RICA and UN. The date is bold and the legends are complete. Our grade is F15+, close to VF20. (PCGS # 1422) .
Estimated Value $750-UP.
