Lot 2763

A pair of 1965 Johnson inauguration silver and bronze medals. The executive committee wanted to keep the silver medals the same price as the 1961 JFK inaugural medals. However, the price of silver had risen dramatically since 1961. Therefore, they had to reduce the size of the silver medals to 64 mm, while the bronze ones remained the traditional 70 mm. There were totally 7,695 struck in silver and 26,275 struck in bronze. Housed in a lucite presentation holder as a pair. Lot of 2 medals.
Estimated Value $70 - 90.

Realized $112
