1889 Harrison and Morton inaugural badge with original ribbon. The medal on the badge is in AU condition. The original design of this medal was ordered by the Harrison inauguration committee from Friederich Company of Washington, D.C. for usage during the celebration. Only 1,600 pieces were struck with ribbons for the committee. However, Friederich Company made couple variant versions for sale to the public during the celebration. This piece is probably not among the original 1,600 issues made for the committee, but a commemorative version sold to the public in Washington, D.C. during the celebration. Due to the extraordinary popularity of these badges and medals, Friederich Company later applied for a patent on this design.
