1871 Quarter Dollar Octagonal Liberty. Breen and Gillio-768, Rarity 4. PCGS graded AU-55. Struck by the California Jewelry Co., successors to Gray & Co. Small, high G on the obverse. The first 1 of the date is high; the next three digits touch the denticles. The reverse shows a weak O and second L in DOLLAR. Rich honey-gold color over lightly circulated surfaces. Pop 6; 66 finer.
