1853 Half Dollar Octagonal Liberty. Breen and Gillio-302, Low Rarity 4. "Peacock". PCGS graded MS-63. Bright honey-gold with areas of crimson-red here and there. The so-called "Peacock" reverse is among the best known types in the California small denomination gold series. Smooth, well defined surfaces. Pop 22; 42 finer, 27 in 63, 1 in 63+, 12 in 64, 2 in 65. (PCGS # 10422) .
