1917 McKinley Dollar. PCGS graded MS-67 PQ. The second year of this popular commemorative design, the 1917 McKinley Memorial gold dollar is less available than its 1916 counterpart. The two issues were created to provide funding for the McKinley Birthplace Memorial in Niles, Ohio. The present example is a spectacular Superb Gem, with intricate detail evident on all design elements and lustrous, unmarked surfaces. Reddish-gold and green-gold colors combine when the coin is viewed under a light. Pop 65; 3 finer in 67+ (PCGS # 7455) .
