Lot 1621

1884-S. PCGS graded AU-58. CAC Approved. This coin boasts nearly full luster accented with some light patina and a good strike. The surfaces present a satiny appearance. Close examination finds a touch of rub on the highpoints, Liberty's hair curls and the eagle's breast. It is most curious indeed that this San Francisco issue is very, very difficult to find in any Mint State grade, but a number of high-grade, slightly circulated pieces exist. This is about as nice as can be reasonably obtained (for a near-Mint example), and the desirability is at the top of the chart for an 1884-S (PCGS # 7156) .
Estimated Value $700 - 800.

Realized $2,233
