Lot 1459

1909. PCGS graded MS-66. CAC Approved. This well preserved and carefully struck example features deep russet-brown and purple toning toward the margins, while the centers remain largely brilliant. The 1909 Philadelphia issue is the most available Barber half dollar for that year with a mintage of nearly 2.4 million coins. Few were saved over the years as nice as this one; examples are scarce in Gem condition and rare in this lofty grade. Pop 11; 3 finer in 66+ (PCGS # 6516) .
Estimated Value $3,800 - 4,000.
