1863. PCGS graded Proof 66 Cameo. Only 460 proof quarters were coined in 1863, and this lovely Gem is possessed of outstanding eye appeal. Both sides are bright and exhibit an ice-white appearance. A pinpoint strike is easily seen, as is a bright, mirrored finish in the fields that presents especially well as the coin is examined under a light. As required of the Cameo designation, the devices are moderately frosted. Exceptionally smooth and well preserved with the utmost care, this "top-of-the-pop" specimen ranks as the finest-certified Cameo Proof 1863 quarter known to PCGS. Pop 1; none finer at both services.
