1897. NGC graded Proof 68 Cameo. CAC Approved. The fields are deeply mirrored and the devices noticeably frosted as expected of the Superb grade assignment and Cameo designation. In fact, a truly remarkable effect is noticed when the coin is turned under a light. Light golden and ice-blue toning is seen over each side, sometimes mottled, sometimes smoothly textured. A colorfully toned extremely high-grade type coin. This is certainly one of the finest of the 731 proof Barber dimes struck in 1897. Pop 3; 2 finer in 68 Star .
