Gershwin, George (1898-1937). American composer who teamed with his lyricist brother Ira to create scores for Broadway musicals and films.
Partly-printed check signed, accomplished in manuscript, 2¾ x 6½", New York, June 23, 1930. The check is drawn on Gershwin's account at The National City Bank of New York and made payable to "The American Dramatists" in the amount of $52.80. Punch cancelling and stamp lightly affect the very bold signature.
