Victorian Lady's Dressing Table Vanity Set. Circa 1880's, 14" x 9" x 5", front opening standing case, red velvet exterior with celluloid trim, beige taffeta lined interior. A beautiful 9" x 6" celluloid bas-relief of the White House adorns the cover. Original twelve piece set items present. Vanity set includes: celluloid brushes, hand mirror, manicure items, button hook and a comb. Exterior shows general age wear. Overall a lovely item in very good condition. Said to be a gift for female visitors to the White House during the Rutherford B. Hayes administration.
