Kennedy, Jacqueline (1929-1994) First Lady (1961-63).

Photograph inscribed and signed, 10 x 8", framed to 16 x 14", n.p., n.d. [circa 1963]. Informal black and white photograph of John and Jacqueline Kennedy inscribed and signed by Mrs. Kennedy in blue ballpoint pen ink, in full: "For Sandy Fox-who worked with such tirelessness and / devotion and pride-and helped to make / President Kennedy's years in the White House / such shining ones-With my deepest appreciation / Jacqueline Kennedy." From the personal collection of Sanford L. Fox, who served in the Kennedy White House as Chief of the Social Entertainment Office, Director of Protocol, and Coordinator of Graphics. His office produced by hand and by letterpress all of the exquisite invitations, menus, place cards, escort cards, and programs that helped make a White House social or state occasion a memorable one. It should be noted that the handwriting, in blue ballpoint pen ink, appears to be over the original writing, which has faded. It is not possible to know if Mr. Fox asked Mrs. Kennedy to re-write her inscription or it was accomplished by someone else. Very good condition.
Estimated Value $600 - 1,000.
From the collection of Dean William Rudoy; ex Sanford L. Fox Collection.

Realized $1,080
