Male Mummy Mask, Ptolemaic Period, ca. 1st Century AD. A wonderful realistic Roman-Egyptian painted stucco death mask of a youthful male. A majority of the paint remains showing skin tones and black stylized hair, or wig, with open eyes and a slight smile. Mounted to hanging board. Remarkable piece with no signs of repainting. Height: 8 1/4 inches (21 cm).
