Ushabti of Imhotep, Late Period, ca. 400-300 BC. A pre-Alexander the Great era ubshati of Imhotep. This beautiful mummiform wears a tripartite wig and seshed headband; arms folded across chest, hands holding a pick and hoe, and basket over left shoulder. There are three horizontal registers of hieroglyphs across the front, read right to left, and one vertical column of text. Superb condition and free of repairs. Height: 8".
