Mold-Blown Glass Vessel with Menorah and Grain Ear Reliefs, Byzantine Era, ca. 5th - 6th Century AD. Rectangular glass mold-blown vessel with handle and funnel mouth; distinct menorah relief on two opposing sides and wheat grain ear on other opposing sides. The piece is covered with opaque iridescence fabulously reflecting all the colors of the rainbow, with an emphasis on green, blue, and purple shades. Expert restoration to small break at rim. This is a spectacular, strictly Jewish artifact, made during the period of art dedicated predominately to Christian art. Length: 2 inches (5 cm); Width: 2 inches (5 cm); Height: 3 ¾ inches (9.5 cm).
