Messapian. Lidded Lebes Gamikos, ca. 4th Century BC. Vessel is decorated on the shoulder with fruiting plants and a band of tear drop like decoration around the body. One of the two handles has been re-attached, light deposits throughout. Overall a choice quality piece with original lid. Height at lid: 6".
