Apulian. Red Figure Kothon or Lidded Oinochoe by Patera Painter Type VIII, ca. 330 BC. Woman seated left on rocks and leaning on a kalathos, hair tied up in headband and wearing lots of jewelry, ie. bracelets, earrings and necklace; holding, a mirror and a casket; across legs, fan. Lid: Two female heads looking left, their hair has been intricately bound and each woman wears a necklace. Intact with only two small fragments on rim and on lid with museum quality repair. Height: 5 5/8 in (14.3cm).
