Armin Hansen (1886-1957). Lifeboat Out. One of the Monterey Peninsula's most respected painters, Armin Hansen's passion was with the sea and the fishermen who sailed it. Mr. Hansen produced his works in multiple medias, including oil on canvas, water colors, pastels, and etchings, all using the impressionistic style. After studying in Germany, he taught at the University of California Berkeley and eventually moved to Monterey, a budding art colony. Over the years his work has been exhibited in dozens of galleries across the country, including the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the De Young Museum, the New York Public Library, and the Smithsonian Institute. His work was also on exhibit at the 1915 Pan Pacific Exposition.

Pen and ink. Actual image is 6 x 8" framed and matted in an antiqued gold frame to 16 x 13", signed in plate on lower right, printed on cream laid paper, with the edition size unknown but only eleven located by Anthony White when compiling the catalogue of Hansen's prints. Very fine condition.
