Stokowski, Leopold. Typed letter signed, one page, 11" x 8½", New York, Mar. 19, 1948. To Mr. Dale Edward Fern, discussing the limitations of performances of Wagner's music. He proposes far-sighted ideas using the projection of color in light, motion pictures projected from behind, circular stage and auditorium for 3D viewing and acting. In part, "…I enjoy conducting his music in concerts, but I feel that his creations are essentially drama. There are only certain moments that are purely symphonic. Particularly the Nibelungenring is so vast in its conception, and has such deep meaning, often symbolic, that it would not be completely expressed in concert…The day will come when, through cinema and television, we can more fully carry out Wagner's monumental conception". Boldly signed. Fine condition. Excellent content.
Estimated Value $300 - 400.

Realized $185
