Lucania, Metapontion. Silver Nomos (7.86 g), ca. 430-400 BC. Head of Demeter right, hair tied with a double fillet crossing over the top of her head, wearing earring. Reverse: META, barley ear of six grains. Noe 368 (same obv. die?); HN Italy 1507. Attractive light toning. NGC grade Choice Extremely Fine; Strike: 4/5, Surface: 5/5; Fine style.
