Lot 2058

1904 Lewis and Clark Dollar. PCGS graded MS-64 PQ. Lovely rich golden toning. Only 10,025 minted. Glowing and exhibiting warm tones. A very pleasing example of this Commemorative Gold Dollar, the second such issue following the Louisiana Purchase coins of 1903. The luster is smooth, very choice, and suitably original. As for the devices, these were struck with plenty of power by the dies which imparted all design elements evenly, and showing clearly, unlike some where a few areas remain mushy (PCGS # 7447) .
Estimated Value $1,900 - 2,000.
