Lot 5003

1794 Liberty Cap Half Cent. PCGS graded AU-55. Here is a very nice coin overall, the surfaces show only light wear, and the devices are sharply struck. We note a small planchet void on the rim below the Y of LIBERTY. There is a short scratch below the L of LIBERTY into the hair, and there are hints of minor red areas in the back of the hair curls and below the nose. As to the color, this coin is medium brown and the surfaces are very nice for the grade overall. Struck from cracked dies, which also show multiple clash marks on both sides. If you demand a very high grade coin for your variety set, then take the opportunity to view this excellent coin.
Estimated Value $4,500 - 5,500.

Realized $4,830
