Lot 397

1816 Braided Hair Cent. . N-2. PCGS graded MS-62 Red and Brown and Del Bland graded MS-63. One of the nicer examples of the Randall hoard variety despite a couple of very small nicks on the lower face and two more on a leaf above O in ONE. A trifle better struck on the forelock than usually seen and lacking the carbon spots. Mint red and brown, the reverse rotated 45 degrees to the right.
We note some very faint scratches around Liberty's eye and in the field before her face. Lovely color and appeal for this popular Randall Hoard cent. Rim crumbling over stars eight to ten, as usual.
Estimated Value $250 - 350.
Ex: Ira S. Reed, privately 9/24/45 at $6.

Realized $460
