Hadrian, 117-138 AD. AR Tetradrachm of Antioch, Syria, struck 119 AD. Rare. Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Hadrian right. Reverse: Eagle, wings spread and head left, standing frontal atop haunch of prey. BMC Syria, p. 187, 305. Bold, sharp strike; some ancient graffiti at obverse right. Fine old toning with elaborately detailed early portrait. Choice Very Fine.
