Ancient Greece. Four Greek AR Coins, 5th-3rd centuries BC. Athens, AR tetradrachm, after 449 BC.: Athena head right / Owl standing right, short test cut on each side. Also, Syracuse, Corinthian-style stater of Agathokles, 317-289 BC.: Head of Athena right, with helmet decorated with griffin / Pegasus flying left. A Nomos of Velia, c. 365-340 BC.: Head of Athena left, with helmet decorated with griffin / Lion walking right, in exergue, owl. And lastly, Neapolis, AR Nomos, c. 300-250 BC.: Head of nymph right, astragalos behind / Man-head bull right, Nike flying above. Lot of 4 coins. Athens attractively toned; Agathokles some tooling in cleaned areas; Velia, some porosity in fields; Neapolis, darkly toned. Good to Fine.
