Lot 1319

1903. Double struck with 2 dates! PCGS graded Fine-15. One of the most amazing errors in this collection, the first strike was perfectly centered, before the coin was fully ejected, the dies struck it again, this time 85% off-center, but most curiously all four digits plainly show at the top right of the obverse! On the reverse, the top of the shield also shows on the lower right from the off-center strike.
As to the condition, the coin retains fragments of most of the letters of LIBERTY, and there are a couple of small surface marks to note, one deep dig near the U of UNITED, and there is a short scratch above ER of AMERICA, both of these surface problems are minor when one considers how spectacular the error is. Evenly toned a medium brown throughout.
Estimated Value $1,000 - 1,500.

Realized $1,035
