Magnificent Vintage Babe Ruth, Gabby Street, Connie Mack, Nick Altrock and John S. McGraw Signed Photo. Gem-quality sepia-tone original photograph from the 1931 World Series, taken in Philadelphia's Shibe Park, later known as Connie Mack Stadium. Pictured are Hall of Famers Babe Ruth, John McGraw, Connie Mack and Gabby Street, along with former pitcher Nick Altrock and super-agent Christy Walsh (Walsh did not sign). All but catcher Gabby Street are in street clothes, with Connie Mack in his trademark black suit. Bats and other equipment are scattered on the ground and Philadephia Athletics' catcher Mickey Cochrane can be seen in the dugout. Christy Walsh formed the first sports syndicate from a stable of stars he used for licensing and marketing. These were Walsh's 1931 World Series "Syndicate" stars. An identical photo, with the additional signature of Walsh and inscribed to Zeb Terry, recently brought $8,200.
