1875. NGC graded Proof 65 Red. Mostly untoned. Only 700 minted. Gleaming and original, yet basically coppery bright in appearance mellowed only by the reflective nature of the surface which doesn’t impart the more formidable "red" color of a frosty BU Gem. The few wispy hairlines do not detract from the overall pleasing eye appeal of this scarce 1875 Proof. Unlike the general run of circulation strikes of this caliber, the strike is thoroughly convincing in all places, even where some weakness is usually expected at the feather tips and the wreath’s bow. Pop 7; none finer at NGC.
