1841 N-7 R2 PCGS graded MS64 Brown. Choice glossy light chocolate brown with frosty lighter steel brown toning in protected areas. The only marks are a few tiny nicks on the chin and a very dull nick on the rim at star 9. E-MDS, die state a. The lumps under the date are visible and the obverse die is uncracked. Great eye appeal, but there is a hint of friction on the highest points of the devices. Our grade is AU58+, very close to MS60. The PCGS label says this piece is the N-2 die variety, but it is N-7. The Ralls provenance is also shown on the PCGS label. Pop 1; 2 finer, 1 in 65, 1 in 66. (PCGS # 405809) .
Estimated Value $800-UP.
Ex Dr. Philip W. Ralls.
