Lot 819

1841 N-4 R1. NGC graded MS-66 Brown. CAC Approved. Lustrous bluish steel brown and olive with faded mint color in the protected areas on both sides, especially on the reverse. No spots or stains, and the only notable mark is a barely visible hairline scratch tucked over star 13. Nicely struck showing nearly complete radial lines in all the stars. A beautiful cent. M-LDS, die state c, with a narrow rim cud break below the date. The short die lines up from the dentils under the 4 are dull but still visible while the die lines over EN in CENT are clear. Our grade is MS63, tied for CC#2 honors in the Grellman census. Population 2; none finer at NGC.
Estimated Value $2,000-UP.
Ex Stack's/American Numismatic Rarities 6/23/2004:2236-Kenneth Goodman.
