Lot 770

1832 N-1 R2 Medium Letters. NGC graded MS-64 Brown. Lustrous olive brown and chocolate with traces of mint red showing on both sides. Subtle hints of bluish steel and sea-green overtone can be found in the fields and this cent offers excellent eye appeal. A tiny spot of darker toning off the upper point of star 4 and a couple more between stars 5 & 6 are the only marks, and they are barely visible. Nicely struck E-MDS. The die lines from the leaf tip under the first A in AMERICA are clear. Graded MS63 by Bland. Our grade is MS62. The attribution is shown on the NGC label. NGC population 1; 4 finer, 3 in 65, 1 in 66.
Estimated Value $1,000-UP.
Ex Abner Kreisberg-G. M. "Pat" Patterson, Kagin's 5/6/1988:1171 (lot ticket included)-Dr. Philip W. Ralls.
