Lot 727

1820 N-13 R1 Large Date. PCGS graded MS-65 Brown. CAC Approved. A satiny gem. Lustrous light bluish steel brown with faded mint red showing in the protected areas. Sharply struck, especially on the hair details, and essentially flawless. The only mark, and it is barely visible, is a tiny ring of slightly lighter toning over the left top of the N in ONE. MDS, the usual die state, with a ring of die cracks connecting the date and all of the stars. Most likely from the Randall Hoard of mint state cents, but this one stands out as an exceptional example. A common variety, perfect for a high-grade date or type set. Our grade is consistent with the PCGS grade. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. Population 2; none finer at PCGS. (PCGS # 36673) .
Estimated Value $1,500-UP.
From the Kenneth Goodman collection.

Realized $3,408
