Lot 656

1804 S-266a R4+ VF20. Slightly sharper but there are microscopic hairline scratches hidden in the toning in the field before and above the portrait. These lines are visible only with the aid of a glass and the unaided eye appeal of this cent is excellent. No notable signs of verdigris, and the only significant mark is a light rim bruise at the C in AMERICA. Rather glossy chocolate brown blending to olive brown in protected areas. E-MDS, Breen state II. Fine die cracks reach through the tops of RTY and MERI. A nice 1804 cent.
Estimated Value $4,000-UP.
Ex Tom Reynolds 3/1994.

Realized $5,170
