1798 S-182 R4 Style II Hair, Small 8 VF35. Ten points sharper but there are many tiny planchet chips in the left obverse field (as struck but distracting nonetheless), a trio of fine horizontal scratches over CENT, and a very light rim bruise at D-S. Frosty medium chocolate brown and steel with a splash of darker olive toning on the chin. MDS, Breen state II. A single set of die clashmarks shows on both sides. Traces of strong diagonal reeding can be found on the edge of the planchet (Breen's planchet type V). Called EF45 net VF35 and CC#5 by Bland. Noyes says EF45 net VF35 and CC#4, his photo #24112.
