1798 S-157 R2 Style I Hair, Small 8 VF35. Attractive glossy medium chocolate brown and steel with spots of slightly darker olive brown toning sprinkled over the reverse. The notable marks are a small flake of planchet slag on the lower end of the hair ribbon, a tiny planchet flake in the hair at the forehead with another on the jaw (all as struck), plus a very light rim bruise at CA in AMERICA. LDS, Breen state IV, with extensive die rust on both sides in addition to the disjointed die crack from the dentils to the neck and a fine vertical crack right of STATES. A very nice example of this interesting die state. Graded VF35 by Del Bland.
