1797 S-140 R1. PCGS graded AU-50. Choice glossy medium chocolate brown and light olive. A beautiful cent, essentially flawless in every respect offering exceptional eye appeal. Finding an identifying mark presents a challenge; a light diagonal nick above the N in ONE will have to suffice. M-LDS, Breen state VII. The swelling on the bust and in the field behind the portrait is advanced and clear die clashmarks show over STA in STATES. Called VF35 by Del Bland. Noyes says VF30 Choice and tied for CC#13, his photo #24241. Our grade is VF35. This is a beautiful cent by anyone's standards. The attribution and Ralls provenance are shown on the PCGS label.
