Lot 365

1794 S-51 R4 G4. Sharpness VG8, a bit better on the obverse and weaker on the reverse, but covered with light to moderate corrosion. Traces of powdery light greenish verdigris can be found on both sides. There is an obvious pit in the hair left of the earlobe and another on the N in CENT. Very rare LDS, Breen state IV late, with a strong die crack arcing from the lower curls to the rim at left in addition to the earlier crack up through the left top of the 7 into the truncation. The date is easily readable. An important piece for the die state specialist.
Estimated Value $200-UP.
