Lot 250

1788 Vermont with GEORGIVS III REX Ryder-31 Rarity-5- VG7. Slightly sharper, especially on the obverse, but the fields are covered with very fine roughness while the highpoints are smooth. No verdigris, and the only marks are a couple short, thin scratches on the chest of the seated figure. Slightly glossy dark olive brown with light brown toning on the devices. The legends are nearly complete and the date is readable although the lower half of the 88 is off the planchet. Listed on page 73 in the "Redbook."
Estimated Value $200-UP.
Ex New England Rare Coin Auctions 11/7/1975:372 (lot ticket included).
