Lot 1087

1875-S. NGC graded MS-65. Nice light toning on both sides. Fresh silvery surfaces underneath the toning exhibit strong cartwheel luster and a satin, almost matte-like Gem quality that really engages the aesthetic sense with its serene beauty. A high-grade specimen that also has much greater detail than many 1875-S Twenty-cent pieces. Only a little weakness found at Liberty’s head. The eagle’s wing feathers feet and talons are all nicely displayed. Pop 196; 65 finer, 1 in 65+, 53 in 66, 3 in 66 Star, 7 in 67, 1 in 68 Star.
Estimated Value $2,800 - 2,900.
