Anthony as President, Alice Stone Blackwell as Recording Secretary, and Harriet Taylor Upton as Treasurer of the National-American Woman Suffrage Association, 6¼ x 2½ in. The check is drawn on the Association and paid to the United Typewriter Supply Co. in the amount of three dollars. Anthony and Blackwell signed in pencil; Upton signed and filled out the check in black ink. NAWSA was the largest and most important suffrage organization in the United States; its members pushed for a constitutional amendment guaranteeing women the right to vote, and was instrumental in winning the ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment to the U.
