Lot 456

1864 US Civil War Patriotic Token Fuld 241/338b in Brass Rarity-8 NGC graded MS63. Frosty golden tan fading to light olive brown. There is a splash of darker olive brown toning at the dentils left of the flag and another between the V & Y in NAVY. Sharply struck on a very wide planchet leaving lots of extra metal outside the die designs. Obviously struck without employing a tight collar, and the result looks like a "railroad rim" when viewed from the Monitor side. An unusual strike of the very rare brass version. The attribution is noted on the NGC label. Estimated Value $500-UP

Ex Richard Rossa & Stephen Tanenbaum by private treaty.

Realized $368
