Struck at the Kings Norton Birmingham branch mint while the First World war was still raging, this Penny type is scarce, but it is extremely rare in mint state. Nearly all these coins were spent in the British shops and used in commerce in desperate times. They are hardly ever seen in better than Very Fine grade. NGC graded MS-63 Red & Brown.
