D. Junius Brutus Albinus, moneyer, 48 BC. Silver Denarius (4.0g). Head of Pietas right. Reverse: Clasped hands holding winged caduceus. Craw. 450/2; Postumia 10; Sear 427. Attractive iridescent toning. NGC graded AU, Strike: 4/5, Surface: 5/5.
This moneyer was later adopted into the Postumia gens and changed his name to Decimus Postumius Albinus and was one of the assassins of Julius Caesar on the Ides of March, 44 BC. Estimated Value $400 - 500
