Thessaly, Larissa. Mid to late 4th century BC. Silver Stater (12.2g). Head of the nymph Larissa facing slightly left, hair bound with ampyx. Reverse: Bridled stallion trotting right. Lorber & Shahar, series B, dies O12/R2; BCD Thessaly II 304 (same obv. die); SNG Lockett 1571 = Pozzi 1219 (these dies); SNG Berry 540 (these dies). Obverse die of particularly fine style and the strike perfectly executed. Superb Extremely Fine. Estimated Value $3,500 - 4,000
