Lot 1252

1865. PCGS graded MS-65 Red. CAC Approved. An attractive example with generous mint luster. Few blazing copper-red satiny gems can be found nowadays with intense luster like this and grand eye appeal. What more could one ask from a beautiful representative of the post-Civil War period? A rounded impression is common enough for many Two-cent pieces imprinted by the stamp of the dies that struck this date and other years; however, we are happy to say that the present 1865 is a grand exception to that rule in being very sharp throughout including centers.Pop 189; 41 finer, 40 in 66, 1 in 67. (PCGS # 3584) Estimated Value $2,000 - 2,200

Realized $2,300
