1848 Liberty Seated Quarter Dollar. PCGS graded AU-50. A hint of light tone. Scarcer low mintage year. Many were subsequently withdrawn from circulation and melted in 1853-55 after the Coinage Act of 1853 reduced the weight of minor coins (PCGS # 5412) .
