Lot 531

1847 N-7 R2+ AU55. A choice red & brown mint state cent that has a shallow scratch from the bust tip to the top of star 2 where it fades out. Otherwise a great cent. Lustrous slightly faded mint red mellowing to steel brown on the devices, about a third of the red remaining. MDS, die state a, before any rim cud breaks on the obverse. Comes with a nice provenance.
Estimated Value $200-UP.
Ex J. P. Young-Barney Bluestone 9/1945:387-Christian Petersen-Jon Hanson-R. S. Brown, Jr., Superior 9/30/1986:1076-G. Lee Kuntz, Superior 10/6/1991:540 (Brown and Kuntz lot tickets included).
